PICK YOUR SHADE
The Nöz storefront hero I designed in Shopify, using the store’s own photo, copy and color palette. (Store build/Grace Park)

I built and marketed a Shopify storefront end to end for Nöz, a reef-safe, vegan SPF nose stick that comes in neon colors. Nöz is a simulated brand the Global Career Accelerator provides for training, so this was a project build rather than a real store. I owned the brand positioning, site copy, visual choices, SEO and conversion strategy, and used it to practice every stage of a digital marketing build.

The customer

I designed the store around Frances the Fashionista, the target persona from the Nöz brand guidelines. Frances is a fashion-forward Gen Z shopper who cares about self-expression, ethical products and easy sun protection. I let her priorities guide the copy, visuals and product positioning, so the site sells Nöz as both sun protection and a style statement.

Value proposition

Nöz is a reef-safe, vegan SPF nose stick in neon colors, made for shoppers like Frances who want their sun protection to be as bold, expressive and ethical as the rest of their look. I placed the value proposition in three spots so shoppers understand Nöz before they have to search. The hero creates urgency, a custom HTML block explains that the sunscreen is reef-safe, vegan and cruelty-free, and the featured product lets them pick a neon shade right away.

Brand visuals

I chose a cream background, near-black text and red buttons. The neutral cream keeps the site bright and lets the neon product colors stand out, the red feels energetic and playful, and the near-black text stays easy to read.

  • Cream background
    #FFFEF4
  • Near-black text
    #081411
  • Red buttons
    #D8453F

For the hero photo I picked an image of a model wearing a neon SPF stripe on her nose, so Nöz reads as bold, expressive sun protection instead of plain skincare.

SEO

I ran keyword research in Semrush and Google Trends, then built the homepage meta title around terms that balance search volume with easier-to-rank phrases. They match Nöz’s reef-safe, mineral and eco-friendly positioning while reaching shoppers with commercial intent.

  • reef safe sunscreen
  • zinc oxide sunscreen
  • biodegradable sunscreen
  • eco-friendly sunscreen
  • best sunscreen for nose

Conversion

On the landing page I focused on a handful of conversion strategies:

  • Clear CTA. The hero button reads “PICK YOUR SHADE,” so shoppers know the action to take.
  • Color contrast. The red CTA stands out against the darker hero image and cream background.
  • Trust badges. The product page uses eco-friendly, reef-friendly and vegan badges to reassure shoppers.
  • Whitespace. The homepage separates the hero, brand copy and featured product so the page is easy to scan.

I also set up A/B testing and built branded email flows in Shopify, including promotional, abandoned-checkout and transactional sends.

What I Learned

The project taught me how to present one product as both a protective SPF and a fashion accessory, and how to keep a brand voice bold, playful and direct across a whole site. Building the store end to end meant the persona, the copy, the visuals, the SEO and the conversion choices all had to point the same direction, and seeing them line up is what made the work click.
